Management and culture is very politically oriented. The atmosphere often feels like an old "boy's club". There are sub cultures that vary greatly from department to department without a clear standard for those in managment positions. Though there are policies in place whether they are adhered to or not depends on your department and manager. Internal culture is not one that promotes upon merit alone. There seems to be a large turnaround in new/external hires especially in females.
