• The most recent advertisements state that on average an employee front line makes 32-40k. This is not 100% accurate in my belief. Yes there are some who average 500$ month in incentive, and It would be possible to earn this much if you are the top performer in the league. However it is my experience that this is misleading. You can work overtime to get to this level too I am sure, but to say It is on average an employee makes this much is a stretch.
  
  Perhaps inclusive of share payouts and raises over the years, but not to start. The Bell curve has many more making much less, and very few making that 40k+   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• I worked at Admiral for a very long time. Take these reviews with a grain of salt. Most are probably from people fired. The idea that people are let go to avoid paying shares is insane. The frontline employee shares are a drop in the bucket, no one cares about those.
  
  The Good - friendly place to work, no dress code, decent activities and parties to do. The best though are some of the people, a lot of fantastic people work there. The shares aren't worth sticking around for unless you become a manager. If that happens you can get enough to put a down payment on a house or pay off student loans.
  
  The Bad - The job in sales is pretty easy but there's a lot of pressure to perform well. Because the managers are all promoted from within and their development is poor, a lot of them aren't very good leaders. This includes the operations team. The morale is Ike a roller coaster but usually fairly low as a result. You need to be very resilient to work there. The startinhbpay is quite poor considering their expectations, if you're just looking for a frontline role, you're better off at a different call centre where there is less stress.
  
  The Worse - Very disorganized at times and the decision making very poor and untimely. There can also be a lot and favouritism from certain individuals. It can be a very toxic environment if you aren't totally inline to what the direction is. If you are fine to do whatever you're asked and don't like challenging, then you'll be fine, otherwise I'd find somewhere else to go.

• Top heavy in growing support staff and inexperienced managers with little to no people skills. Style will get you ahead over skill as long as you're willing to kiss ass. The people who actually earn the money for the company are not treated or rewarded fairly compared to self promoters who couldn't lead a 2 car parade down a one way street.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• Started off as a great place to work, ended up as the biggest nightmare you could imagine. Problems stem from upper management who spend their days gossiping about others instead of getting work done. Little to no encouragement or recognition given, and very little job security. • Place is going downhill fast. abandon ship! • If they don't start firing the managers at the Halifax location, ones that bully their employees, their center will have the same faith as another in that city, Teletech. • They dont care about you, your a number and at the end of everything no matter how good you are or have done, its only the negative that they care about, Your told everyday how your s*it you are at your job. • Place is like a cult where groupthink/herd mentality is encouraged and independent thought, self expression, or questioning the company is frowned upon. Met some great people working there but it's mostly robotic "yes men" who kiss ass and buddy up to the bosses in the hope of getting a promotion.
  
  It's like the movie "Office Space" was based on this place it's so uncanny. The "good" reviews written here were so obviously done by some stooge in their HR dept. It's a kind of a high school environment there where the more extroverted and outgoing people that run around giving hugs and high fives will probably go further than the quieter more reserved people that keep to themselves regardless of performance or results. As i said it's a herd mentality they try to impose there. If you are creative minded and opinionated then look somewhere else because this place isn't for you.
  
  The benefits and holidays are good and overtime is usually available where you can get gift cards depending on targets. That's about the only positive i have about the place. The job is monotonous and can be soul destroying at times not to mention the company trying to shove this fake "feel good" factor down your throat day after day.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

  The people at Admiral make it a really friendly place to work, the benefits and hours are great. While the base salary is a bit low, there are lots of opportunities to earn incentives and gift cards and bonuses. And the free shares and company pension plan all add up. • Touted as one of the "best places to work", having put in over a year I can tell you they are not. From the get go they tell you they are all about "culture" and "fun". Every Friday they will give you some candy, some days milk and cookies, once they had a coloring contest. Some day if you are lucky they will give you a rope to hang on to and take you for a walk to the park. Awards are held every month to recognize star performers...in other words, if you sell lots and are popular. If you keep to yourself and provide good service you're not getting any recognition so don't bother. Promotions are given on a popularity and selling contest, whether you are any good at your job or not. When you start you are basically told you could be on probation indefinitely. I was not, I passed in 6 months, but I saw people put in 10 months or more and then get let go because they "didn't pass probation". Don't give your opinion on anything, or they will peg you as a troublemaker. So all is fine if you want to drink the kool-aid and keep your mouth shut, and make sure you're a pushy seller. Almost every work function is centered around booze and/or gambling. The only good things I will say, the hours are good, the benefits kick in immediately, and if you can stick it out for the 3 years it takes to get shares paid out you will make half decent money. Overtime offers are decent sometimes, but after 5 days a week it makes you want to skin your own face anyway. Don't expect any support, if you are struggling they will feed you to the wolves. Company has grown too large too fast, and unfortunately a lot of good people have become lost in the shuffle. The elevators in the new office don't work right, the roof leaks. You are crammed into an office with 300+ people every day and they expect you not to have more than 4 sick days a year. When you call in sick they call to make sure you're really sick, and grill you about it when you come back. If you don't book your vacation days at least 2 months in advance forget it. And if you don't use vacation time by the end of the year you lose it. They will pressure you into overtime. Run fast and far, do not work here!!   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• Easily the best call centre in Eastern Canada, hands down. The staff and managers are on equal ground, no power trips whatsoever. I, along with a lot of my colleages actually good friends with a lot of the managers. They're all aproachable as they don't even have offices, they sit right with us. My salary is ok but they give me lots of free shares in the company which practically doubles my ok salary into an awesome salary. The company is constantly growing and with that growth they need more and more managers, well they look no further then internal so I'm confident I can have a career here - promotions here I come.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• If you want to relive high school all over again, get nowhere in life, be treated like a pre-schooler or like the new piece of ass in town this might be the place for you! Having to listen to managers talk about who they banged last and how much they drank the night before makes for a sh*tty work environment. Overtime has turned into a complete joke. They bragged about great benefits, great overtime pay, gift cards, great sales structure, and that has ALL GONE TO CRAP in the eight months I've been there. Oh, and be prepared to be in probabtion for an eternity if you don't meet targets. You sign your life away when you are hired basically stating that they can keep you on probation forever. They forget to pay you overtime, they forget to pay you all together. I bounced rent cheques because the assholes never paid me my overtime hours and didn't see those hours for another month or so.

• I can easily say this is the best job I have ever had. Having been a Manager in retail for almost 10 years moving to a company like this is like a breath of fresh air. I've been there for nearly two months and still feel like I'm on vacation.
  
  I'm proud to work for Admiral and recommend anyone who is in Halifax and wants to become part of a very rare place of work to apply! There is practically no dress code, no one has an office which makes everyone (even the CEO) 100% approachable.
  
  Not only does Admiral pay attention to work/life balance they essentially enforce it. We get 3 weeks paid vacation, stat holiday, paid sick days you name it we have it. Gift cards if you come in on the weekend, free fruit, free breakfast at least once a month. I could go on and on.
  
  You're challenged everyday by the goals you need to meet but rarely feel pressured. Management makes sure you're happy because they know a happy employee will do their job great. The turn over rate is nearly nil which is unheard of to someone like me who came from an industry where we flew through employees like underwear.
