Air Canada is not what it used to be. This used to be a great company to work for, but since Robert Milton took over a CEO the place has fallen apart. Employee Morale is at an ALL TIME LOW. Unionized employees are worked to bone, While management is over staffed, and the head men (CEO...etc) Make all the big bucks. When economical problems arise( Gas, U.S economy...etc) Unionized employee's are the 1st to get hit, While upper Management(ceo's...etc) Rake in the Millions. DO NOT APPLY AT AIR CANADA FOR A JOB, THE STRESS IS NOT WORTH IT!!!!!

First of all, where have you seen an educated manager there??? Where have you seen a manager with a direction??? I've seen plenty of union people with potential get destroyed. I've seen a lot of unionized people making the place run. I've seen some employees giving up because they feel like there's no leadership and no responsibilities in that poisoned working environment. I've seen lot of unionized employees getting lay-off letter than having it removed the day the layoff was due... for the 5th time in a year. I've seen layoffs and overtime being called the same day. Don't get me wrong, people love their work, it's the environment they work into and the culture of the company that is awful.

And while AC employees squabble, we Canadian citizens go out of our ways to NEVER fly AC. Never.

Get real!!! What managers are educated and smart? If you took the time to ask the unionized employees information about their cv's you wouldn't be calling the employees oldtimers or untouchable. You should be ashamed of yourself. Comments such as yours and the inability to see the truth add to the reason of not having a team environment.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Don't unionized employees have the right to recall?? THAT MEANS YOU STILL HAVE A JOB!! When management gets cut, they don't have a job that they can come back to!!! Unionized employees for the most part (some of them are good) have this attitude that they are untouchable, they deserve the best money there is out there and you are for the most part so lazy. These oldtimers, really need to wake up and see what its like out there...god forbid if they were to lose their job and had to polish up that resume that they made over 20 years ago and try presenting that to an employer and ask them what they think. This company works in reverse by axing the educated, smart employees that are in management and keeping the uneducated ones that bring nothing to the table...sorry but that's the reality for most of the senior unionized employees
