• Basically slavery. Worked as delivery driver for a year and a half... Sorry as a driver, dishwasher, kitchen body, host, and every other thing imaginable, worked way too hard each shift, over-tasked, understaffed, forced to field blame for everything. Management=Useless, the extra tips were not worth the complete hassle that was working at Boston Pizza. No appreciation for the overwork that their employees are continually expected to put in. • The Boston Pizza I worked at was absolutely disgusting.
  Expired food and drinks being served and employees would often pick off customers plates before serving it to them.
  Management is very young, with little experience.
  I was fired for missing one shift, even though I booked it off in advance and they still scheduled me.

• I've worked at the location in Queensborough for years and it is honestly one of the most horrible companies I have ever worked for. The turnover rate is ridiculous and the whole management system is so flawed. They treat their employees with no respect and promise raises and bonuses but never come through on it. I have friends who have worked for other boston pizzas and they all say the exact same thing. The main problem is that 90% of boston pizza's are franchised so all they care about is their bottom line. As long as they are making money they will cut as many corners as possible. • The Boston Pizza I worked for was nothing short of a disgrace. The management is the saddest thing I've ever seen. They make nothing but negative comments, gossip to employees about other employees although they are MANAGEMENT and should be setting an example, never once gave one encouraging word or any recognition of a job well done, etc etc etc. It was truly disgusting. I went home from my shift everyday and cried. When I quit, I let my store manager know that they were very mean and how uncomfortable it was, and her response was, "please return your uniform". Sad, sad people that are giving Boston Pizza a terrible name. I will never again have a nice thing to say about them or refer them to anyone.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• Overall not all too bad, they hired me straight into serving with no experience but made very little effort to help me and let me fail a lot, blaming me for mistakes. After working there for two months, I took two weeks off to fly out of country for my grandfather's funeral and they fired me when I returned because they deemed it "inappropriate". • Terrible place to work. I've been a server there now for a few months and the ONLY thing I like about it is that Boston Pizza severely over-prices its food, which means higher tips for me. The management does not care about you, and you are reminded constantly that many people want your job so you can be replaced within seconds. • I have worked at Boston pizza for just over a year . Biggest issue for me was the balance of control and awareness of FOH and HOH . Expecting far too much from their employes , seems to be a common affair of not having enough staff and not enough of a reason for people to stay and dedicate time to a company that clearly does not care for the root of the company ie the employees ! There are people there that work hard and have put many years into the corporation just to see a new dishwasher get paid the same as them makes no sense . • A company that simply does not care about its employees, constantly cutting corners in an attempt to profit the business itself more and more. Absolutely no benefits, not even the basics you would get working at a McDonald's. The company has no sympathy for any disabilities, whether permanent or temporary, any of its employees have. • I worked at Boston for a few months and man oh man I would not recommend it! My immediate supervisor was quite nasty to me, I never had stable shifts and for minimum wage and a couple bucks in tips did not make all that work worth it. I worked with a lot of drama queens and commnunication did not exist. I got fed up about being yelled at and people telling me different things all the time. No real room to advance unless you are friends with the higher ups. I ended up just walking out. Also, slow service and EXTREMELY demanding customers.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• I've worked for BP for nearly 4 months now as a line cook, and initially thought it would be a great place to work. However, chronic understaffing results in a lot of unneeded stress and frustration in those required to staff the kitchen. It can be very frustrating to be scheduled for an 8 hour shift and it turn into an 11 hour one. I've worked 10 hour shifts with no scheduled breaks. You can expect to stay far beyond the time you are scheduled to finish your shift depending on how busy the shift has been. • worst place I have ever worked. I started there with moderate serving experience and was constantly told how wonderful I was doing and how well I was fitting in. I had an hour commute across town on a bus and was never late, nor did I ever call in. I picked up shifts and stayed late whenever asked. Never once was there any indication that management or any of my co workers had an issue with me. Three days before my three month probationary was up, my managers had the kitchen manager (I was a server and NEVER worked under his supervision) fire me, after I had just worked a ten hour shift that I wasn't even scheduled for! • Sure, a family restaurant, but really pretty good to work for. My franchise, anyways. They recognized my hard work when I was under 19, and made me a server anyways. Scheduling is flexible and never an issue, and the people are awesome. Not a lot of pride found in the work, but good people nonetheless. High turnover rate, but that's restaurants. • If you want a restaurant job as a line cook or server, Boston Pizza is ideal. I was initially hired on as a dishwasher, and the management recognized I worked hard and promoted me as a line cook after 7 months, despite having zero cooking experience. You get decent little bonuses like tips and discounted meals. It can be stressful and like any other workplace, there are workplace politics. But do your work and you'll get decent feedback. The kitchen managers I worked with were extremely nice and accommodating to time off. Don't expect many raises though.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• No pay raises/benefits until you reach a supervisor or assistant kitchen manager position. Half off on meals before, during or after your shift. 25% off any other time.
