• I am one of the employees that have put 7 years of my working career with the school and I can truly say that the Canadian Aesthetic Academy holds a real name and has prestige in the beauty industry. I have worked for other schools before, but, this one stays steady and true as one of the top five schools in Canada, as it has the best technology, instructors with a passion for teaching and a will to grow. • After working here for the last 5 years, I'm looking forward to the next 5 years here. I honestly don't think I could have been this successful working here for so long if it wasn't for the continuous support and encouragement I had from the owner.
  
  CAA is one of these rare gems, especially in the Aesthetics industry. The owner bases all her work on humility and integrity, and this trinkles down to the rest of the company. CAA has one of these rare, very positive business cultures, and they have a long and distinguished history of great success to back it up. The company offers a lot of perks and is very family-friendly, with various events that include family and spouses.

• Working with the school over the past years has been a real pleasure. From the beginning, my emplpyer was a very polite and kind person who treated me as more than an employee, which is very rare to find. If there is something that I can say overall of the experience with her directly in a nutshell, it would be that she knows how to reward hard work and appreciates as well as implements ideas that are presented. Also, whenever I speak with her, she stands by her word and respects our agreement. She always tries and finds a chance to fulfill the expectations and find the best solution when areas such as working hours and financial hardships are faced. I am a very enthusiastic individual, so, I thought that I would expect more of the school than what they had to offer, but, I actually got three times of what I had expected. With her I really saw a full benefit of working for the school.
  
  I would spend my whole working career with the school if that is one of the possibilities that my employer presents to me, as every change for me would be much less than what I have here, financially and socially. • I had left this company on my own back in November. (...). I just couldn't take the stress level working there. It was just full of lies. Always shouting going on as to why the sales are bad etc... • in every business, hard work is expected, that is what you get paid for. Some employees are expecting to get paid while they chatt, go on facebook and check their personal email, basically waste employer's time and get paid for it. No employer will accept that. Bad reveiws are always given to good employers who are aware of irrisponsabile employees and will not tolerate those who scam and steel company time and money. • My experience with CAA which has been fantastic so far. Having worked in all sorts of business environments (retail, service, sole proprietorship), I can say that I'm happy with where I am right now. (...). It is hard work, but as I've discovered over the years, advancement is earned, not expected. I have and continue to recommend CAA whenever I can.
  
  Regarding the polarity of some of the comments here, I'm really surprised. Either CAA has really cleaned up their act in recent years, or rather, certain people are trying to game the system. Shortly after I started with CAA, one person was let go. Obviously, I can't name names, but her sense of entitlement was sickening. I've seen this before at other jobs, particularly amongst younger workers who feel that work requirements are optional and they just have to show up to earn their paycheque. Anyway, you know who you are - if it is you posting these comments, consider taking greater responsibility and pride in whatever you choose to do. • This school is horrible...any comment on here that is positive is one of the poor employees that was forced to do it, and they even know that what they are writing isn't true. Trust what you hear and what you read about this school. Or find out the hard way. But my advice is just trust it, go with your gut. Hopefully sooner then later everyone is FINALLY realize how completely wrong this school is, for so many reasons and it will go under. • I used to work for this company 2 years ago. When I had my interview, I was promised the world and that I could make all kinds of money. I never once saw any commissions owed to me. They always said they had no money, yet they kept on hiring new people every 2 weeks. After reading all these postings it looks like not much has changed. (...). • I can proudly say that I work for the Canadian Aesthetics Academy and a graduate of the school more than 7 years ago. I am proud to work for a company that believes in hard work, who can recognize employees who are HONEST and truly enjoy what they do! There have been so many negative comments on here, I have witnessed all that there is to this company and am very happy with my position and the advancements that I have made through this employer. For those of you who have left or quit, you were never cut out for the job. If you don't know the history behind a company who has stood in this industry for 30 years and know what it takes to be in business for that long, than it's good that you have decided to go else where or you probably got fired! This company has ZERO TOLERANCE for individuals who have no ambition, no drive and certainly negaitve engery. It takes strong people to work for a strong company, as an employee my efforts and hard work have been recognized.
  
  This is not a job that I go to everyday and dread to go to, I look forward to seeing my fellow colleagues and the people I am surrounded by that make this an awesome place to work at. It's not just a job that pays the bills for me or something to keep me occupied for the time being, I am passionate about what I do and have respect for my employer who has showed that a company who strives to be successful will rise above all. I am sorry to say to all of those who are no longer with us, you were not cut out for hard work and success. Again, there is ZERO TOLERANCE for people who expect things without hard, honest work. • Obviously those of you that wrote got fired because your insubordinate and can't do your job. I bet I can put names to each comment...funny thing is we're such a bad school that we've been in business longer than any other aesthetic school. As for the "staples" diploma, I print them myself not STAPLES...go to another school and see their diplomas that are printed on plain white paper with no graphics and/or colour, thats why you get them right away. Another thing you all seem to think the owner is living such a lavish life off your money, if that was so true then why is she working 13 hours a day? Hmmm maybe because its so hard to find an employee that can do they're job properly. If this company was such a joke than we wouldn't have instructors that have been here since we've opened or a laser tech thats been here for 6 years or how about the accountant that has been here since we've opened as well, I can sit here and go on and on but why waste my time....

• This place is a Joke I work here as we speak and can't wait to get out BEWARE the school doesn't have instructors who should be teaching most of them are new graduates themselves. The management will tell anything you want to hear just to get you to sign up. You have rights but are not told about them please do your homework and check with the ministry before attending this dump. The laser medical program is a mess and you willn't be able to work anywhere without alot more training CAA is a mess (...). • I worked here, and this place is beyond a joke.
  Management sits around all day in their office, meanwhile each and every campus is out of control in need of assistance and nobody seems to care. When something goes wrong, it's always pointed in your direction, and you get fired instantly.
  We were told to not care about students and their issues, and when the student gets so fed up with the school they are able to pay a fee and leave the school with a diploma. I'm surprised they havn't been reported or had investigations done on them, it's beyond ridiculous.
  You pay an arm and a leg for tuition, you're better of going to a college or university and gaining a diploma that's actually recognized. This place has a bad NAME.
  Do not believe anyone who signs you up what your course will be, and who will teach you, or anything- it always changes.

• I guess I am not alone in my feelings about this School based on other comments. Working there was something very different than what I was used to. They protray the place as being upbeat, profitable, caring about the staff and students. Guess what "only talk", just words. That is the farthest thing on their minds. It is MONEY ONLY, and how to keep it at the same time offering poor quality education, poor equipment that is old and breaks down constantly, never any supplies only when there is money to pay for it, poor management skills, poor quality Instructors who go through the motions only just POOR,POOR, POOR !!!!! Anyone thinking of working there or going to school there don't. It might have been around 15 years ? 25 years? whatever, doesn't matter, it is way past its prime, don't be fooled by the time it has been in business that is not a gauge for measuring the quality of the school. • As a former employee, I was told (...) to lie to students constantly. We would give different pricing to different people depending on what they could afford. The company is in terrible financial state right now. I would not recommend any students to go there or anyone to work there. You will not be paid what you are promised when you start. There is always an excuse as to why you do not get paid. Management will accuse you of things you didn't do without any proof just so they don't have to pay you. • Overworked and underappreciated by an upper-management team who hid in their offices and made themselves entirely unapproachable. There is no concept of "team" or "co-operative effort", rather a few senior staff who dictate company policy and then have the audicity to blame company losses on their employees. In the notable abscence of any positive reinforcement, employee motivation to contribute to the success of the organization is nill but expected all the same. The utter disdain and complete disregard with which they treat their students and spa clientele is appauling and embarassing...imagine telling your employees that business is poor and that they will lose their jobs unless they start double and triple booking spa appointments! • NEVER work here, NEVER go to school here. I worked there and have yet to be paid.
  The staff as well as students are treated so horribly there. It's hard to believe they are still around considering their reputation in the industry. And anyone that comes on here to say anything good about the school is one of the poor people that work there that were put up to it. And they don't even believe what they are writing.

• This is the worst Aesthetics school you could go to. It is completely mismanaged and I've not seen a single happy student or teacher. The methods taught are outdated, teachers don't show up on time or at all, materials are old and not worth the money students are paying. There is no communication and seems to be no will to solve any of the current problems. Employees talk about each other in front of students and with other staff members, teachers bring their kids to classes and no one says anything. As a student you are wasting your time and your money, and as an employee you will get no useful experience to help you in the industry. Once you say you've trained at or worked at the Canadian Aesthetics Academy you'll lose all credibility. • (...) I felt really sorry for the students because they spent a lot of money for courses that either were cancelled or pushed to a later date (with inadequate notice) or started at a different campus (most students weren't able to go to other campuses as it would've been far out of their way; think student lives in Toronto and was told to go to Hamilton for their course). The structure was very poor.
  
  As far as being an employee, I was treated less than human. My title often changed as the school's operator saw fit (he didn't like me much and tried to frustrate me to the point of quitting). As Rater 1 did state the operator did cut my hours and that was the heads up that my time was almost spent. In retrospect, there were a few red flags with this place. First thing being everyone there was employed for less than a year, mind you this place was in operation for more than 15 years (can you say 'revolving door'?). Second, when you got paid (by personal cheque) you were told not to cash it until further notice; often this cheque was taken back from you for an 'adjustment'.

• I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to either work nor study at this dump! (...) As an employee or a student, they promise you the world. When it's time to collect then you see their true colours. Too much workload for one person - think a 6 member job handed to one single person. You'll know when you're about to get the axe when your hours/days are cut with an excuse of "the company is facing finacial difficulties". With all that money you are scamming from poor women? I don't think so. If you know anyone who is about to enroll in this "school", tell them to run, not walk, RUN away. Or else a 3 month course will turn into one year, and good luck trying to get your diploma/certificate handed to you at the end of your studies - take a trip to your local Business Depot and print off your name with "The Canadian Aesthetic Academy" at the top of mediocore resume paper...that's what you'll get anyway.
