So much has changed in this company over the last year and none of it for the benefit of positive morale within the lower ranks of the employees, aka the people making the company it's profit. The fact that the union or the government is not on our side is very depressing. The terminal I'm at was just served notice of a material change, and now we are going to be expected to report for duty two hours away for assigned jobs, and if we take trains up there, we're looking at 45+ hours away from home. Next, the court ordered CIRB ruling to reinstate all local rules affected by the company's decision to outright cancel them all is not-and never was-being adhered to with the government not asking why. Employees giving two weeks notice are denied their legal right and are essentially fired right there and then. Getting any sort of days off is a hassle and you have to near rage at them to get it. The fatigue management plan is nothing short of a joke that in some regards ends up in you going to work ill rested. The calling in unfit clause is still getting guys pulled out of service despite the arbitrator ruling that we could do it without consequence. They're getting rid of some yard crews and forcing through-freight crews to do hours of switching before we depart the yard and they have no intention of compensating us for it. That's not all, but that's what readily comes to mind, and as usual the ever corrupt TCRC is standing by and letting it happen, as they have been letting everything happen. It all leads to one question: When do I join the rest of the exodus of 20+ employees and quit...I mean get fired.
