Coworkers tend to be wonderful because they're book people, but the company is awful. Has completely lost the thread on what Chapters used to be and has fully become Bed Bath and Beyond rather than a bookstore. Hours are unpredictable so it's the kind of job that gives part-time hours but requires full-time availability. Makes it hard to work anywhere else. The pay is minimum wage, they purposefully hire part-time employees so they have to pay the minimum benefits possible. You're constantly hounded to get more memberships and to ignore customers' refusals in order to press them harder. It's very uncomfortable. TLDR: love books, love their knick knacks as a customer, hate the company and hated working there.
