• you can spend years but your salary will increase few cents every year ! They fool you about future careers so you work so hard in your position and when it is time of hiring, they hire their party friends. • As a customer service phone rep, you get ample training and adequate pay for the job responsibilities.
  It might be a good fit for someone who enjoys a highly structured work environment as your entire shift is scheduled for you down to the millisecond. There are lots of sales incentives if you like sales, you will win a lot!
  There is little opportunity for advancement and the management when I worked there in 2008/2009, was poor.
  Good pay and benefits for the position and duties and free/discount cable internet and phone services are a big bonus.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• Its hard to advance, high stress, unprofessional management. HR is poor in providing any type of resolve into issues. They pay and free services are not worth the stress.

• Cogeco Sucks as an employer! If you work as Tech Support or Sales, all they are interested in is that you get customers off the phone in 6 minutes or less. They don'e even care about their customers, but place adds on TV stating that they do. In the end, they just pressure their Sale and Tech reps and their Field Technicians. If you don't meet their 6 minutes per call, you are terminated through a long drawn out process, pressured to quit, and ultimately, fired without severance. It doesn't matter how long you are with the company. Add to that, when it comes to raises and bonuses, they rate you with a very mathematical process, you are a number to them, not human. If you do get a raise or a bonus at the end of the year, its chincey... Avoid this company at all costs!!! You'll regret it if you don't. Thank God I am working for a better company now for $7.00/hr more than Cogeco ever paid me...

• This company is a joke. All they care about is making money. The field techs especially get thrown in the dirt. The pay is awful. The only reason none of the techs leave, is because there are no other jobs around. Takes them forever to get any new services in place. The company doesn't care about it's employees. • First off, HR is horrible. They do interviews straight from textbooks and know little about the specific job you are applying for. HR also backs up management when are clear conflicts.
  The company's only real goal is to make money for the family that owns it. They don't like to invest in the company at all. It takes years(decade) to complete a major project while competitors have long finished similar work.
  Upper management is always trying to re-invent the wheel. There is hardly a quarter that goes by without some re-organization in some part of the company. I've seen several in the same departments over the years.
  Quebec management creep is slowly overrunning the Ontario division. Ontario management is very thin these days. There are always conference calls with Quebec and visiting Quebec management visiting if they feel like it.
  The focus on Salaries is generally to keep them low. The typical raise is less than inflation these days unless you try to do more than one persons work. They confuse the bonus with long term incentives of salaries. The bonus and raises are determined in some secret way that has nothing to do with performance.
  Internal communications are terrible and getting worse. Nobody in Ontario can make a real decision.
  Management is egotistical and inflexible in my department. More interested in being a human time clock than actually understanding our jobs.

• As a growing cable company nothing great to write home about. The company culture really is a let down once a person has joined. and everything is very, very shorterm focused. Stress levels are high and retention is pretty poor of really good employees/contributors who wish to differ with corporate in their longterm focus.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• Bellow average pay, little room for advancement, and it appears to all start with a poor HR department... Other than free cable, internet and phone, the place stinks!

• This is a terrible, horrible place to work. The pay is crap - they promise promotions that never materialize - the politics between Ontario and Quebec are horrendous. It's awful - avoid at all costs!! The only benefit this company has is the location, if you don't want to commute to Toronto.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• De beaux bureaux à la Place Ville-Marie à Montréal, mais une atmosphère lourde, gestion style militaire et très sévère. Le plaisir au travail n'existe pas, encore moins la créativité.
