• There is no honesty of intention in the management's engagement with the staff. They endorse bullying and get away with it. The only smart people are the ones who quit.

• I have to say that it’s one of the top unorganized management teams that I have worked for in my professional career. I was lied to from the very beginning about the general overview of tasks and responsibilities. When I was about to give up, they offered me a promotion. It ended up being an ‘x’ amount raise instead of a greater amount initially agreed upon. The responsibilities, again, were not as discussed. The schedule agreed upon was not honoured. I asked to be demoted while I looked for another job. The person who came in to take my place left within 3 days, because he claimed they lied to him about the general overview of the job. The staff morale is quite negative as the turnover rate is extremely high. I looked for other opportunities in other branches of the company, but they are notorious for cutting their budgets and offering a salary lower than the same positions at other companies. (Yet they claim they are one of the biggest employers in Canada). Overall, this was a toxic work environment. I would not go back to this company, and I would strongly recommend that you stay away from them in your professional careers.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• I had a really good job at laurention university with Aramark, then compass came in with all these promises and never lived up to them. I hated the company and how it was run they have never had such a big account and could not handle it from the district manager to the office staff the place was falling apart. Day after day I saw my friends at work leave one at a time they took a really good place and turned it into garbage. I have spoke with a lot of students I know and all the prices went up so high they can't afford to eat at the great hall anymore. I just can't wait for compass to be out in four years and I will reapply with Aramark when they return. Thank you   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• WORST COMPANY EVER WORKED for and thats saying a lot. They lie to you, take away income earned, harass you, take away bonuses, criticize your efforts.
  There is no incentive to do well, and/or prospect to advance.
  The managers are undereducated and ineffectual at making key decisions.

• I wouldn't recommend anyone to work for Compass at Shell Scotford in Fort, The work load is way more then anyone could handle, stress is very high, they blackmail you to work, don't ever get sick you will need a Dr.s note for every day you are sick, Management never listens when you tell them you have to much work and not enough time, they just tell you to do your best. • A good company to work for, however there are no incentives or praise for hard work. They also lack materials to work with, so it makes the job a lot harder to do. The work load is unbelievable, and you can;t do any daily tasks at the end of your shift because all you want to do is sleep from being over beat.I also think a monthly pizza lunch or bonuses would be good to have, because we all work hard and gain nothing out of it.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• I have worked for this company for almost 35 years. They have treated me fairly and have always shown respect. I retired after 30 years and then was rehired as a spare to fill in when needed. I would never have done this if it was such a horrible company. I worked as general help and also as a supervisor. There are ups and downs on any job. • It is not an easy thing to rate an employer and to remain objective and fair. No matter who we are or what our intentions are...our emotions and personal opinions come into effect. I had a hard time filling out the rating. One thing that I can tell you, is that, how you view a company's performance and it's policies all depends upon how the person is that you are having daily contact with. If that person is not doing their job (maybe by not supporting you...or they just do not have the skills to do their job properly), their behavior and actions will greatly tarnish your outlook and respect for the company. The saying..."A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link"...comes into the mix. There are some definet problems...mainly with lower and middle management. I also believe everything that was said in the other comments. You know when someone says, "That person just insulted me!" and you may say, "I didn't think that what they said was insulting". The real truth is, it doesn't matter what you think. What matters is how the other person thinks and feels. So when you say you feel it was/is the worst company...I believe you. • I started last year and I had an awesome, focused and responsible boss. I was alright with getting up at 5:00am every morning to go in for minimum wage for 6 hours of super stressful work, but this year that boss was promoted and we have a new one. This year... I just feel miserable, for the amount of work and stress that we have to deal with, the pay is just not worth it, and currently I have been there as the second longest employee (at the moment. im 20 years old, all my coworkers are much older and have all quit before me) and I work with some of the meanest people. For example, the "chef" (who has no diploma whatsoever in cooking) is so sexist and insults his coworkers all the time (i was insulted so many times for my personal appearance- yet I KNOW i'm far from anything under average) and yet the boss says nothing of this. Note- he is the only man working in our team of 6 (5 other women). I just think- If the employees of this company were treated better with more respect and pay that matches what we deserve - we might actually want to work there longterm.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• Stop mistrusting your employees and demeaning them by telling them to not tarnish the image of the company! You do that all on your own, we don't need to do that for you!!!
  Also your mistrust of your employees by having us using fingerprint technology on your time clock is a personal violation. The only people who require our fingerprints should be law enforcement, not some company that employs part time office cleaners. How am I to know what else you expect of us in the future? A drug test? You abuse your powers, no wonder you have a low rate of satisfaction. • Extremely poor or non existent communication within/among management/staff. No actual hiring process other than showing up (on very short notice) where they need someone.
  I agree that (camp) management can micro manage and can be extremly rude and unprofessional (as was an experience of mine.) You are a widget in a process-nothing more.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• I'm not really sure these guys even follow the BC labour laws. They pay out vacation money not when you are about to take a vacation (as required by BC Labour laws) but in cash every July. Their pay raises are well below the cost of living increases, and they do give their employees sick days. Since taking over the company I work for they have not sent any representatives to our workplace to gauge the workplace environment as was common with our previous employer. Just another low paying contract out company that hires yes men managers to run their business while caring nothing for their employees.   read complete rating Hide complete rating
