While the pay is ridiculously good for what the job entails, there's little to no opportunity for advancement. Any shot you take at moving vertically or diagonally ends up with you embroiled in office politics and a game of brown-nosing and favouritism. Given that and the burn-out associated with the job, it's no wonder turnover is such a problem.
