I worked for the flagship store in Toronto for about 6 months (would have been longer but I was in school in my work load was too great to sleep, let alone work) I really, really enjoyed it. Management was pretty good (some managers better than others, as is usually the case). They were flexible with schedules, so if I had a big project or exam, I could book a few days off, no problem. My co-workers were THE BEST. And even though I only worked there for a short time, and haven't worked there in a few years now, I still keep in contact with them. The store was clean, organized (although I wasn't a huge fan of how often they would move things around.. If you saw a certain sweater in the corner yesterday, it's probably in the middle of the floor today). I believe they really tried to make working there fun. We had pizza lunch on boxing day, and we would always make it a party with music and candy when we had to do inventory, or unload new shipments. Discounts were awesome. 50% off all Gap merch, 50% off Old Navy merch, 25% off Banana Republic. Obviously, at the end of my 6 months, my entire wardrobe was Gap. When I left, I didn't expect to see any money more than my last paycheque (especially since I was just part time), so I was very surprised to see a $120 cheque in the mail from Gap for unused holiday hours. When any of my friends are looking for retail jobs, I always recommend Gap.
