This is only my opinion, of course. I worked for the GAP for 14 yrs in a variety of roles and totally agree that management does not do enough to build good teams. Favouritism and emphasis on the Bottom Line over the quality of life for the staff make certain stores awful to work in. The GM needs to be a good balance between knowing how to treat and retain staff and being a good manager fiscally. Usually it is one extreme or the other, and the "nice" managers don't last very long!
