I thought I'd try my hand at the security industry. Wow. Garda must be one of the most unprofessional security guard companies I have ever come across. There was a gas leak I attempted to call the fire department to which I was told not to. So let me get this straight. This is a commercial building in the downtown core and you don't want me to call the fire department regarding a gas leak? The manager then tried to tell me that gas leaks aren't all that bad. I'm like are you kidding? I immediately resigned. I'm not placing my life in danger because the unprofessional Garda Manager and the property manager have this agreement where if lives are in danger and it means spending money to get it fixed you rather not. Also lazy security guards sitting around doing nothing while I was the only one doing proper rounds and checks. Including going into the underground garage at night by myself knowing very well there were drug users in the area. I asked if a security guard could accompany me while I did my rounds of the underground garage and they said no. Wow. Stay far away from Garda Security they do not care about your well being and will place your life in danger. Surprised the Ministry of Labour hasn't shut them down yet. Very ignorant managers and supervisors with zero education or real work experience.
