I can say that working for Gregg's was the worst experience of my life. Fans of Gregg's will dismiss me for being negative or not being able to work hard. However I would point out that I was a combat arms soldier in the Canadian Forces for five years and I have worked harder than most. You will be humiliated on a very regular basis at Gregg's. Whether it's because of a minor mistake you made, or for how you write your three letter code. Everything at Gregg's is a big deal, except when it comes to the wellbeing of their employees. For the first week and a half I was not even allowed to take my own breaks. I had to be shown how to take a 15 minute break, because obviously I am far too stupid to figure it out on my own. Employees are afraid to talk to each other, because you will be punished and you will lose vacation time. If you are ever sick you will lose vacation time. If your mother dies, say bye-bye again to your vacation time. Mothers dying is considered high maintenance at Gregg's. They do have some perks in the job. But anything they give you will be collected two-fold in return. If you suggest in anyway that you are unhappy, you will be fired. No questions. Management will spy on you constantly. If they find you are taking too many pee breaks, you will be fired. If you work scheduled over time, you will not be paid at 1.5 times, rather they pay a flat rate which is less. Everything they do seems illegal to me, but they must have found some serious loop holes. Just remember if you shop at Gregg's, those good prices come out of an employees pockets. Never work here. The pay seems good, but its not worth it. I worked at Edmonton main, maybe others are better. Don't know, don't care.
