• Don’t work this job unless you can’t get a job anywhere else or you’re young. Be prepared to work so hard and everywhere you look you’ll see old lazy people doing nothing, while your expected to hit standards everyday the old people sit back and laugh The truth is that safety takes a back seat to numbers and quotas. Every day is a grind on your body and one wrong move could land you in the hospital or worse. The job involves continuous picking for 8 hours of various grocery items which you then have to organize on your pallets, all the while people are getting in your way and equipment is shotty and failing. You get a 20 minute break and by the time you get food and eat you have to go back and work it’s really the most controlled modern slave environment I’ve ever seen we all have a purpose in life and you wouldn’t believe there’s actually people living for this company and spent their entire life being miserable like it’s their only option me personally I feel life is to short to live that way nothing changes if nothing changes I’ve spent 11 years working here, every year somehow got worse no exaggeration I even advanced in the company before eventually even being offered management positions but why would you even want to supervise or manage a company so corrupt it’s hard to even respect someone with those jobs they feel so entitled like you gave yourself to a company physically mentally and emotionally your whole life for what now in my position I really wish I left before it was to late knowing I’ll be spending the rest of your life in that warehouse is some real depressing stuff go to school kids take a trade anything but this unless you want to be used till you go insane   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• If all you ever want to be is a number give this place a try. Absolutely no consideration for employees, they only care about there standards(% of work done) Pickers are forced to pick multiple boxes at once in order to achieve standards leading to back injuries.
  
  Reach operators are forced to drive unsafely to meet standards. Pivoting/driving with loads in the air. They once threatened Reach operators with write ups for that very thing, so all drivers did it by the book for 1 shift, which caused days of O.T so they stopped threatening employees.
  
  Watch out if you make it 4 years, because that's when the bulls eye gets put on your back, why would they pay top rate when they can keep burning through our younger generation and save. Why else have they been hiring since 2003. They now hide there identity and hire through temps as well.
  
  I spent almost 5 years with this company and jumped as soon as I found a better offer. No regrets whatsoever.

• Management runs employees by fear, building discipline files of mostly non-sense to scare you with firing. The piece work goes up every year with no increases in pay. Safety is of course mandatory but not enforced due to the fact standards cannot be reach otherwise. Assembly machines are not design for the job but purchased because cheap. The work force is pretty good and the only good thing about the job. The only thing worse then the management is the union, UFCW1000A who go out of their way to not help its members, but play golf with the senior managment and be part of their wedding parties (slight conflict of interest). Unfortunately the pay is decent and the benefits okay, but they are trying to "fix" that. If I knew 17 years ago what this company would become, I would have run away. But considering how hard it is to find a job with equal pay now, I guess I'm stuck. Do not work here if you have a choice!   read complete rating Hide complete rating
