  • A truly mediocre offering in the financial services industry. Funds and offerings are competitive as a result of low fees (for retail mutual funds; wrap products and private counsel fees are not competitive) only.

    Most HO employees have no financial services experience; the lack of a profit motive (all profit is returned to the CMA) means work takes place in a culture of "good enough". Archaic, paper-based systems compete with "gimmicky" work-at-home teleconferencing systems to siphon productivity throughout the work week.

    Senior exec turnover and churn is high, creating a chaotic internal environment where a significant amount of available energy is spent waging political wars and empire-building, all aided by a fascination with jargon and a very thin veneer of understanding the financial needs of physicians. The number of employees who are competent in meeting the financial needs of physician clients is small and declining.
