It is no secret, his reputation & abusive behaviour follow him like the stench of death. Expect to work 12-14 hours a day and rejoice when you leave work at 9pm. You will be belittled for hours for the font size on a piece of paper you had nothing to do with. Toxic environment breeding toxic people. Don't walk run from this company. • This company shows no appreciation towards it's employees. There is no opportunity for growth. They over work you & expect that with no compensation since there has been a pay freeze since the late 80's. Had I known this I would have NEVER worked for this company. • I would not recommend this company to people. All I can say is the stress level does not match their pay!! This company is full of idiots who talk like they know everything! It will be the death of this company. They also do not compensate their employees properly. • Was interviewed by the President for a position working at H.O. for merchandising and planning. I've worked in retail for close to 25 years and consider myself a professional, I have to say the interview itself was most unnerving. I had my credentials berated and overall and I was made to feel terribly insignificant. • I did an interview at their Montreal head office many years ago and the guy who interviewed me was a total a-hole. I remember the receptionist was also very snotty and it all just left a very bad impression on me. Since then everytime i see the name Nygard, it always brings up very negative feelings. • I worked at Tan Jay specifically. It was AWFUL. I was often working by myself & when we were visited by the Regional Manager, he gave me his business card so I looked at it and he accidentally gave me some membership card of his because he wasn't paying attention. If he was a nice guy I wouldn't care but he was a complete jerk. We weren't given enough time to get our tasks done and there was a high turnover. The quality of merchandise was horrifying and we were pressured extremely hard to practically harass people who came in the store. • This is the worst company I have ever worked with.
