Ocean Island Backpacker's, like any work place has areas which could use improvement, but for the most part they offer a flexible and fun environment in which to work. Sometimes the work/life balance seems a little skewered as it is difficult to maintain a regular schedule and make plans for your days off. But on the flip side they allow employees to travel for extended periods of time. Management encourages you to pursue what interests you most (within reason) and in general, are open to your suggestions and complaints. Work can get a little mundane and sometimes you get bogged down by all the rules and silly little tasks but the guests and co-workers keep you amused. I have found my involvement with Ocean Island rewarding and enjoyable!
