• They pick and choose who they want to do what to encourage advancement. For example, I was asked if I had obtained Police Foundations, as it was needed to become a full time guard in a health care facility, because I hadn't, I was placed out of the way to watch a door, and not able to participate in any calls or even learn how to respond to calls. Many of my co-workers (even those whom have started shortly before I had) were not required to do the same thing. In fact, one of my co-workers that have started not even a month ago, is being suite trained (trained on how to respond to calls), is studying engineering (nothing to do with security) and has absolutely no experience and I had to fight to be trained for a good month, before I was. Not until I mentioned that I was going to school, was I trained.
  Im going to go out on a limb here and assume it's because I'm a female.
  I'm also a little older than 99% of my co-workers and get bullied, and pushed out of the way at calls, or asked to relieve other guards so that they can go to the calls instead with absolutely nothing being done after speaking with managers and the CSM.
  Don't expect to learn anything or any opportunity for advancement if you're a female, unless you're prepared to fight to prove yourself.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• This is a company that is big on promoting their culture and values and the "Paladin difference". The reality is they are not much better than most large contract security companies. • I was a loss prevention officer for Paladin. I was not paid to attend court for arrests I made.
  
  Guards are instructed to use excessive and unreasonable force to effect arrests. I was constantly lied to and sabatoged by other site supervisors who attempted to stop my advancement.
  
  They also held my final cheque hostage to force me to return my uniform.
  
  I would not recommend this company, both to work for or for your security needs.

• I have never had such a low morale as when I came to work for Paladin. First they said that the manager who got our contract had made a mistake and they were losing money on it. The manager responsible for the contract abdicated his responsibilities to someone lower in the office and now we are ignored. Send an email to the office and you won't receive a reply. Repairs are not made to vehicles or delayed for unreasonable periods of time. One vehicle has basically been abandoned on the contractor's site. Guards quit their job with high regularity. • I have never experienced such indignity in my life as when i worked for this place. on top of paying garbage (1 dollar above minimum wage.) they would not provide access to bathrooms, shelter, or even heat at remote sites. and during the winter months in BC this can be genuinely dangerous. I am truly grateful for my coworkers on Mobile who managed to visit every hour to help me warm up and prevent Hypothermia during the winter months when i could not refuse what little shifts i was offered. I never grasped why it was necessary for guards to pee in a bush at a sub station in the outskirts of downtown like a dog rather than provide access to the outhouses within the fenced area. this alone should illustrate to people just how they view their employees. NEVER work for these people
  
  On top of the terrible wage Paladin Security pays, their idea of a christmas bonus for the guards is a $5 Starbucks card while management gets triple digit cheques.I threw it back at the mobile super that gave it to me I was so disgusted.
  
  As for the Management, every last one of them belongs in a North Korean prison camp hauling coal from dawn to dusk. as i have illustrated, they have no respect for their employees dignity, and physical well being. I'm just glad i was able to bend management over the desk before i left by getting thousands back for unpaid overtime.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• Worked with paladin for a while and i would say dont join them false hope false infos. even have guard whos been in same site for 2 years and stuck with minimum wage.

• This company is terrible. In Calgary, if you manage to get into AHS, you will be bullied by your own co-workers and peace officers. Forced to do their reports (perjury by the way.) And shunned from the worksite everynight on your way home. Your own team lead is turning a blind eye because of wanna be cops with no actual authority telling him what to do.
  
  If you manage to get past that barrier and sent to another site. Don't worry. Brainless idiots do most of the work. Do yourself a favor and just stay quiet. As soon as you speak up you will be thrown under the bus for having a brain and a voice.
  
  If you are a colored race. Leave the office and immediately you will overhear racist comments and garbage from the men and women who will look you in the face and tell you that you are valued and appreciated. Even those on your site are waiting to stab you in the back.
  
  Scheduling will not inform you of what you need to bring to work so guess and hopefully you are prepared. They also expect you to take extra shifts at the expense of your life and family.
  
  You will be under paid and over worked but there is light at the end of the tunnel....... There are a whole bunch of other places willing to treat you better the moment you leave Paladin.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• I have worked with Paladin for over a year now and have to say it is the worst managed company I have ever had the pleasure of working for. If you read the other comments you'll see a pattern of how management use staff, don't pay what is due and lie about everything. I came from a military background were honesty and integrity are very important, to this company which has no integrity ( management level and above ) whatsoever. • As a former employee with paladin security I would have too say this is the worst company I have every worked for in my entire life. pay is low, schedule is always day by day. I was put a permanent location for over 3 years. Pay checks always short, takes up too 2 or 3 months for them to pay you. Management are bullies. If they don't get what they want the pull a guilt trip and try and make you feel like crap for enjoying your one day off you have a week then hangs up the phone on you when you say no. • I have been with company for 3 years and I feel like I'm treated as though I have just been hired. I am also a Reservist with the Canadian Forces and the lack of flexibility and willingness to provide time off for local training as well as block leave for inter-provincial training is atrocious. The client that I am contracted to has a much more invested care and concern in me than Paladin does; the client is continually checking in and asking me if I'm getting enough time to attend military events and training and genuinely seems interested and values the extra skills that I bring to the portfolio (they even take time out of their busy schedule to just listen to stories about the training I undergo - now that is Employee Care).
  
  I was hired on, and within my first couple weeks I transitioned into a Supervisory Role, I had taken the appropriate training and had worked in the role for over a year. I transferred to a more active site to gain more experience and relinquished my supervisor position as there was not one available at the new site - no problem there. The Client had changed their security delivery program and I once again had to be transferred (this time against my will), many of my coworkers that had less than stellar work ethics were offered first pick at sites, including the supervisory position at my old site and I was left to pick from Casual Pool or General Duties (which would result in a pay cut).
  
  Multiple times I had to fight tooth and nail to get time off for military training, one instance I was not permitted to work Mon-Thurs because I was training Fri-Sun for about 5 months. The second instance, I travelled to another province for 2 months of training and upon return they had given away my position and offered me overnights and sites too far for travel from my home. The client has given me much praise and has commented on my dedication, my excellent work ethic over the last 3 years, however Paladin continues to ignore it and continues to treat me as if I am a criminal and the worst employee in the company. It is not a Unionized Workforce, it would be as simple as them telling my replacement that the position is temporary, however they don't and I am now fighting to return to my position from when I departed for training (or even offering an open supervisory position which I am qualified and experienced in doing).
  
  There's a lot of empty promises and poor treatment within this organization unless you completely give up your life, become their lap dog, and fill every open shift that comes up. Despite their website's "10 Reasons To Work For Paladin" they don't actually adhere to any of it.

• I have worked for Paladin for nearly 4 years now and there are not enough characters available in this box to adequately describe my experiences or how flat out awful my opinionof this company is. I could easily write a 50 page report full of personal experiences titled, "DO NOT WORK FOR PALADIN SECURITY LTD". Disgusted and completely disgraceful are the the closest descriptives I can use off the top of my head. This companies moral compass seems so out of calibration that I sincerely believe the managers enjoy seeing how much they can make their employees suffer or how far they can push them on a day to day basis. • This company assured me and several other employees that we would have hour guarantees, benefits and set working schedules. Our training and licensing was also bungled repeatedly. After some time, it became clear that they'll spout whatever nonsense they need to in order to get butts in the door and on site, regardless. By the time you're 2 or 3 months in and figured out they're full of it, the next "batch" is ready to go. This place is a scam. Avoid it unless it's a springboard to something bigger and better and you already have an exit strategy formulated. As well, completely undeserving of the "Best Managed Company" award. There's no superior management system at work here whatsoever unless routinely deceiving your employees is considered a best management practice.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• Started off as great sounding job with amazing potential for growth or promotion from within. Management doesn't communicate with staff or other levels of management and it's often confusing. You are expected to be available on call as a casual employee but often get ZERO notice about shifts. If you deny a shift, they get upset pretty much no matter whatever the reasoning you couldn't make it in. The training was very good in most cases, in others it was quite horrendous. I found quality of work to range from excellent to absolute garbage depending on the site you were at. Most coworkers were decent but some I question why they were even hired. I'd recommend this employer if you are looking for extremely casual work or as a stepping stone. It's definitely not as good as they make themselves look on social media but they weren't quite as bad in my experience as some of these reviews. • Operations is terrible - they called my emergency number to try and get a hold of me to book a shift, they had no right calling my emergency number at 3:30 a.m waking her up and disrupting her sleep.
  
  
  I called to book a shift a day before, they had none, the next day as I was having breakfast they called me saying that I had not appeared for it, so i quickly got ready for it and left from downtown toronto to missisauga, upon arrival my shift got cancelled.
  
  
  Too many convenient pay terrors, they never accidentally overpay us but always underpay us.
  
  
  The company is very dodgy and most of the other comments are absolutely correct. So do not doubt for second.

• Absolutely shite company. Been with this company for approximately 3-4 years and it has been a slow, painful, downward spiral. The head office is run by a bunch of monkeys whom when not frivolously eating each others s%$^ and w@nking themselves to their undeserved award for "Best Managed Companies". They are busy under paying their employee's, messing up schedules, even though if you are full time it's replicated indefinitely so how you f&^* that up is beyond me. They do not validate pay increases in which they say they offer. Their training is horrendous yet they claim to offer more than any in the industry. "Paladin's module of training; We have online courses, go learn them if you'd like, or not we don't give a f$%^ what you actually do". They constantly make mistakes with pay so you have to really pay attention to your bi weekly work periods and count every hour. Attempting to get those payments adjusted is a nightmare. The Managers and Head of departments are real pr!cks who believe that if you work for them that they own you and will treat you as such. I recommend that everyone stay away from this company unless you are in dire need of money or have a fetish for being treated like s#$% with pay that resembles it.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• Paladin, Paragon, Inneractive, Garda, G4S its all the same SHIT!
  
  stay away from private security, just volunteer your butt off, learn another language, GET YOUR GUN LICENSE and just apply to the police force if you want to get into policing or border patrol.
  
  PALADIN is not the greatest, but there are worse companies. Paladins problem is the following...
  
  management reprimands employees for outrageous bullshat. POWER TRIP.
  Schedulers are imbeciles. Seriously!
  LOW PAY! you might as well flip burgers and make more money and be happy!
  The uniforms are unpractical for security! YELLOW POLOS DO NOT WORK well when you need to write reports without having to dig into your pants pocket all the time when shit hits the fan!
  
  DO yourself a favour DONT HIRE PRIVATE SECURITY COMPANIES IF YOURE LOOKING FOR ONE. HIRE a security guard directly with your company and pay them well to protect your assets!
