I loved the selling experience at Spence Diamonds. It was challenging, entertaining, and you got the chance to really make an impact in peoples life. The store was beautiful, and having an office to sit your customers down and run them through the sales presentation gives you a personal sense of satisfaction. If you are considering becoming a part of Spence, BE WARNED! For one, you will need to learn a looonnng script verbatim (%100 word by word). You get hired, and get given a few days to learn it. If you don't pass, you do not get the job. This probably isn't too bad unless you're currently working for another employer and you have to give your 2 weeks notice. Spence will not care if you've already quit and you haven’t got the script %100 memorized... YOU WILL NOT GET THE JOB. Once you pass the script, the intense training process begins. I did not mind this because like in any other job you want to be fully prepared before you go on the actual selling floor. Training was good, but it's really up to you on how much you learn in the week you are given. During my one week in training I had found out that before the 4 new people that had just got hired (including me), 3 had got fired. The reason was unknown. One week into selling, the lowest of the four new performers got fired. This person did not deserve this. They were devastated... and the company did not care. Next week, a regional manager got fired... only one month before that had another one been fired. That same week, our store manager quits. At the end of the month, I got fired. I was successful during my time there. This is not a good company to work for. They hire and fire people, it's just what they do.
