• Worst workplace ever! Rude and unprofessional management that treat you like a slave. Everything is unorganized. All projects are chaotic with lots of improvisation.Everything is done last minute. • Working with Swatch Group Canada has been one of my worst experiences. Management is terrible; the communication is awful. Things would change daily, the job became too stressful. You would go into work wondering if you were going to get fired that day. People were not treated properly or professionally within the company as well as customer service. There is a high turnover rate. This job isn't worth the grief. If Switzerland really knew how Canada was being handled I'd like to think they would take action. • Haven't worked for this company in over a year and I still get shivers up my spike when I recall the couple of years I spent doing time with that company. Positive reinforcement is unheard of at head office,the renovation on a couple of the hazardous locations promised 4 years ago is yet to be started. Head office also likes to run itself like a reality TV drama show and there are various unprofessional and rumour spreading things said back and forth between staff and managers. On one occasion when a manager contacted head office with a the bullying situation with a homophobic employee...head office responded that the manager was asking for it by being so stereotype sounding at work. This company will never admit that they don't know what they are doing but it can obviously be seen by the recent closings. I believe they only have 3 locations left in Ontario. • Horrible company. They are unorganized, unprofessional, and don't keep their words. You will hate working for them in the first two weeks because of how they try to push unrealistic goals down your throat. Also they need to find new people to run their head office because the ones that are there now are unrealistic people and is the reason most people quit, and they are just people who don't care about the employees who are out there busting their buts type to sell and get their commission, which is always impossible to meet because of the ridiculous goals !!! • Unfortunately the Canadian subsidiary of the great Swatch Group is mismanaged at the local level, resulting in reactionary business practices and non-existent human resource policy and procedure. (...). The only benefit to my time working here was that I was able to work for a strong brand manager and had strong team members. The same cannot be said for most of the management that remains. • swatch is under new management and of course, every job has their good and bad. what everybody said below is still true to this date sadly. since minimum wage did go up in BC, they changed the commission system to make it more difficult in my opinion and work harder for a job that pays shit. overall, job was okay for a sales but management needs improvement. the new National Retail Manager believes change is better but that's not always necessary true. don't take my word, just ask all the employees who use to worked there before.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• WOW where to start with this place? The hiring process took MONTHS. They were very unorganized and delayed the opening of the store over and over again. Once I was finally hired, training was rushed, unorganized and administered by people with no training in recruitment or coaching.
  
  Compensation is below average and I was also mislead during my on boarding to believe compensation would be higher than it actually was. For example: Swatch claims to pay commission but the commission rate is only slightly over 1% (if the store makes its sales target) this means that if you sell a $100 watch that's only a dollar in your pocket IF your whole store makes its weekly sales target (which is normally about 30% YOY!) One time we went for two months without any sales targets and head office refused to return our calls. This meant no employee had a hope of seeing commission because again, you only receive commission if you achieve sales targets - and there were no sales targets. So suffice to say, an employee would VERY RARELY see any commission.
  
  Communication between retail locations and head office is dismal. Positive feedback? I wish there was ANY feedback. My boss was impossible to get a hold of and refused to return calls or e-mails regardless of the subject of my enquiry. The store didn't have any petty cash on hand so office supplies etc. were expected to be paid for by the manager and then reimbursed. This reimbursement took weeks or months and constant nagging, begging and pleading for your money back. Ordering product was complicated and unreliable.
  
  I did not receive a performance review or any feedback in my six months there so I'm going to assume chance for advancement or promotion is very limited.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• Swatch Group Canada treat their employee like a working dog, they pay a store manager at $26500 salary and good luck for getting any bonus, reward or a raise. they cheap enough that they even took away employee Recognition Award back when employee left the company before claiming it!
  The one things Swatch Group Canada does is LIES!!! they never keep their words and they are good at pointing fingers at each others (dont take my words for it just ask around!)

• if you desire to work for an organization and a management team that is undeniably incompetent, without vision or strategy, tell reckless tales to cover their own butts without concern on how others will be affected, tell tales to avoid giving raises, and to avoid dealing with critical internal issues, hire for sake of cost not for qualifications, who spend because it is cheap not because it will promote future growth and efficiencies, are without confidence and back bone to stand up and support what is right for the people in fear of appearing as 'complaining' to their superiors in both the USA and Switzerland HO, who straight out lie to their superiors in both the USA and Switzerland and promote their staff to do the same when speaking to outside managers, disfunctional in every way imaginable, makes decisions without being informed, does not allow staff to provide their input because they are the boss and they know it all, assign you a task and then make decisions and commitments without informing you then my friend, this is a place for you!!
  
  Oh yes, and if you hate developing yourself and seeking continuing education then you definitely are at the right place. Swatch Group Canada absolutely discourages continued education. • This place is by far the worst out there. If you ever wanted to be humiliated and not recognized, go ahead and work for Swatch. Management is so bad that Switzerland had to come to Canada and even send people from the USA to clear up messes from prior years. The only important thing for upper management is to make profit even if this means that necessary expenses are completely avoided. (...). Vacation time, time off, sick days, overtime, benefits, all of those things are never a priority and therefore it is impossible to say that HR cares about their employees.
  Needless to say there is NO growth in this company. Expect to get hired through an agency and only if you started as a receptionist you may become a brand coordinator, otherwise forget about growth opportunities. Even though they will hand you an employee handbook with promises of studies or with specific arguments about vacation days and entitlements, do not expect that any of these things will be fulfilled.
  Ask any of the workers at Swatch (if you decide to work there, of course) how many new employees there are, and how many of the more senior ones have been promoted, or have many of the senior ones have been doing the same thing for years... The answers will definitely be not hopeful at all.
  If you are looking JUST to get paid, and maybe look for a job while working here then this is the place to be. But beware, HR as well as some brand coordinators are always on the lookout for current employees looking for jobs online; they use craigslist, monster, and workopolis to make sure that you are not searching for other opportunities. This last part is the worst, not only will they treat you bad but also they do not want you to leave (Ohh yes... everyone here is against each other)
  The stress is unmeasurable and the lack of judgment is without boundaries. Bad decisions have been made and many more to come, good people have gotten fired without cause, even the ones that had been with the company for years. (...).

• The local management lacks vision, experience and understanding of the business. Canada being a small market is often given orphanage treatment by International managment.
