The hardest part of my job was dealing with the ongoing insecurity in the workplace. I felt I couldn’t dress my best or shine at my job. It brought me down in my job. I would experience instances of sabotage, glares and gaslighting often. I witnessed many professional relationships turn extremely personal quickly which I felt contributed to the very insecure environment as well. While there were a handful of empathetic staff who were a pleasure to work with. I still dreaded the environment as it made me sick. It’s difficult to implement diversity and inclusion when insecurity at the office is at an all time high. We were sent for extensive Diversity Training and Management proved to me that it does not work, especially in a highly insecure workplace. A very good lesson for all of us.
