  • I recently worked at a Wal-Mart in Port Coquitlam and I have never been so humiliated, so hurt, so crushed, and so embarrassed in my life. I was told that any problems or issues in the store could be talked through a open door policy it's a fraud I got fired because of it. I had a training store manager, I had no clue who he was just that he was new and was running the cashier and sales rep in the store for the time being. I was working in the back when he approached me he started to insult my work habit saying I was slow and was not rushing to get skits out on the floor I calming said if I went faster I would end up hurting the costumers, because for some reason Wal-mart believes in that wrapping up a skit is to much time consuming so we had to stack it 10 feet in the air with no wrap around the skit. I listened and acknowledged his complaint, I talked to my supervisor about the complaint I received and he advised me he shouldn't be saying that because he has zero power in the store he's just their to watch and learn and told me to talk to my manager and see about the open door policy. He got the manager and the manager took me aside to talk to the trainee store manager where I would be insulted, treated extremely rude I tried to explain the problems in the back but every word that I would try to say he would hush me up like a 5 year old child with his fingers to his lips not allowing me to say a sentence. After 5 minutes of this I give in and stopped, he then went on to insult me saying I was lazy and was only looking for a promotion that I had already guaranteed myself because he heard it from someone at the store which he named in the meeting. Problem was I never met the person in question, nor did I go around self promoting myself I did though go around telling people how great it was to be working again and to be able to feed myself once again just like everyone else was doing. I was happy for the job and I didn't take it for granted like the way the trainee store manager was telling me I was. He told me to leave and I did the next day I went in to work with him smiling away, grinning through my entire firing telling me I was rude, and used military words to describe my emotions. I left and I grabbed my things hoping it was over but it wasn't he followed me all the way to the exit where he kept badgering me saying he won, he was the better man, and that he could do anything he wanted in the store as I left the store he told me never to come back and told me to F off. He's done this to many people I am not the first, he's still doing it to this day and he's trying to self promote himself to being the next store manager by walking on people trying to make a honest living. Please don't apply to any wal-mart just find another job, my GF works there still and she's suffering in great pain with back problems because they treat people like garbage and don't care about you. This place is utterly the worst place to work, and you will regret every minute you work their.
