  • I started at walmart less than 3 years ago as a part-time worker and worked my way up to 2nd shift supervisor. I give 100% at my job as I always do as that is the way my Dad raised me to be. I worked in the backroom as an unloader when I started there were 6-7 guys a shift. Now we NEVER have more than 4 people per shift. The expectations are unbelievable we have 2 full-time workers in the back and 5 part-timers, but we are expected to unload an 1800-2000+ piece truck by hand and separate all departments, shrink wrap and pull all this to the floor to the appropriate departments. As well as complete between 600 and 1000 "picks" of merchandise from stock to the floor, unload a 1000 piece pantry truck, then a fresh and frozen food truck, make cardboard bails, work freight for the floor associates, help customers and other associates and bin overstock freight. Also we are called on to cover for store standards with carry outs. This is "expected" by management every shift to be completed and it isn't humanly possible when I have a good crew in. Unfortunately at least half of my crew should have been let go long ago, but at walmart hard workers are expected to do more and lazy ones get a free pass.
