Working for Western was a truly frustrating experience. I have never worked for a company where so many of the employees were so dedicated to doing a fantastic job but were never recognized by management in any way. A comprehensive lack of accountability by management lead to nothing but finger pointing and workplace drama. Finally, job descriptions are very inaccurate and not indicative of the workload that your posiiton has; because of this most employees are very underpaid and overworked. This actually seems to be recognized by most people, including most of the management team, but there is no plan for anything to be done about it.

Yes, you raise an interesting point about managers with no insurance experience. Western prides itself on having so many managers without any previous management experience because that means they were promoted interally. This may sound good, but lack of proper Human Resources enforcement of rules has led to a lot of unchecked harassment issues with inexperienced managers, as well.

Bravo Rater #5 - Don't forget the sudden changes in bonus structures, pay structures, title changes, and overall changes made that are supposed to apply to everyone wherever they are located or whatever their territory is. OH and how about having people in management positions with absolutely NO insurance experience!
