The job has not changed in my 35 years in fact it is probably better. The problem is we have some supervisors that are not people persons. If they listened to the ideas of the experienced employees out there who can and have been doing their jobs well for a number of years and maybe implemented some of the ideas instead of pushing their ways all the time there might be a better working relationship between management and unionized employees. And employees would feel better about themselves,their supervisors and their jobs.
