Good pay and benefits. However as an employee with just under two years in, the training I recieved before being put into the field wasn't enough to prepare me for many of the things that I've encountered. Fortunately in my area there are some very experienced rails that don't mind helping the green horns out. The work isn't all bad, but as many others have eluded too, this is not a great place to work if you enjoy an active social life or quality time with your family. I have met a few good managers, but they do not represent the majority.
