One of the last places to work where management still thinks it is okay to verbally berate employees in front of their peers. Safety is the number one priority so long as it doesn't cause delay to trains. Transport Canada summed it up very well in a report a few years ago: "Management promotes a culture of fear." I make good money, but the benefits are very sub-standard compared to other transportation jobs in the area and I am required to be on a 2-hour call, 24/7/365, so if you have a family, or want friends who do not work in the industry it's not the job for you.

So true. CN has the worst managment I've ever had the misfortune of working with.
