CN treats it's employees like if we were back in the 40's or something. All the management does is do everything that it can possibly imagine to make the employee's life on the job as miserable as humanly possible. I'm not exagerating, this IS what they do. No recognition at all and I guess somebody is sitting in his or her dark lonely office gets paid to think of new imaginative ways to make the employees' on the ground hate the management. It's too bad because the job if really interesting and even fun; but it's hard to enjoy and have pride in your work because of the way they treat you...

CN management are really seem to hate their employees. In most cases I like the work I do and try to take pride in that.. But you will get no recognition for hard work unless your some bosses kid, then you can do no wrong. A boss at Mac Yard took all the tinted safety glasses away because he didn't think we could see well enough But management can still wear them. It's all about we can do whatever we want... You can't stop us. The new CEO wants to make thing better he says but it's gotten worse by the day. I'm looking for an out. But they know they got you with the bad job market. If your a skilled trade they treat you likepoo.

At least a roofer could wear tinted sunglasses and the boss might respect you if you work hard. The union will likely stand up for you too. Unless they're the CAW.

passed on another job offer to hire on and regret it now. Family time is almost none and social life is non-exisitant. Trying to get my other job back now.

I wish I could go back to my old job.. But I burned some bridges so I could hire on here.. I thought I was gonna get a real apprenticeship. What a joke the show you nothing but punish you as if you have been there for years. Really managment treats people like crap. Will do what we want to you attitude. And the union doesn't give a shi! either. At CN your on your own.. And the management knows it that's why they write you up for a day off even with a note. Bully you any chance they get.. Pay is the only good thing. And many days it doesn't seen worth it.
