I worked in Laval qc, in the meat department. While the people in my dept. were great, management was bad. Pay was horrible... minimum wage, minus deductions for a useless syndicate and medical that's not worth it, which left my meager earnings even thinner on pay day. AND they make you pay for your uniform and protective equipment! (I am a strong believer that if a company wants you to wear a specific uniform, they should supply it cost free... as well as ALL safety equipment!)I was always stuck working the weekend, evening and holliday shifts... I agree that you can't always get what you want, but they should at least give you something once in a while! In the end, this was the reason I left. The previous week I had informed management that I could NOT work on a certain day, for I had a doctors appointment, which had been taken 6 months prior. They went and scheduled me anyways! I approached them about this, and they tell me that there is no way they could change it. I tried to come up with a compromise, for me to come in 30 minutes later, so that I have the time to get back from my appointment, and they refused. There was no compromise on their part, they stood firm. So I came in the next day with my uniform and resignation letter in hand.
